Are you interested in exploring how Christ fulfills the Old Testament? Would you like to participate in a Lenten Bible study that simultaneously highlights the connections between the Old and New Testaments? Join Loretta Oakes, our Middle School Theology teacher here at All Souls, and current student at the Augustine Institute, as she shares insights on:
- How and why Jesus is regarded as the New Temple
- The significance of Jesus as Priest, Prophet, and King
- The meaning behind Jesus being called the Lamb of God and its connection to the Old Testament (including how the Book of Leviticus is so much more than rules)
- Biblical evidence on suffering and how to use it as a vehicle to draw us closer to Jesus
- The scriptural foundation of the sacraments and their vital role in our faith
This Bible study will take place every Wednesday during Lent from 8:05–8:45am in the School Library beginning February 25 and concluding on April 1, with no session on March 18. Participants are asked to enter through the School Office entrance on S. Pennsylvania St. We look forward to welcoming you!
